Kathy Carl cannot remember a time when she was not studying, drawing, painting, or, quite frankly, down right experimenting with art. Encouraged by her mother and grandmother, Kathy's childhood was filled with literature and art supplies galore.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. Kathy worked in her field for a few short years before marrying her high school sweetheart and starting a family. She was busy with two small boys, but continued to dabble with murals and small commissions. Finally, the dream of turning her love for art into a full-time career was fulfilled when she was given the opportunity to teach Art Appreciation and Visual Arts at a private school. After 14 years with the school, Kathy began teaching privately and continues to do so in her Marietta studio.

Through her teaching, Kathy has worked in a variety of mediums. Though pottery was her first love, she has been working exclusively in oils since 2015. She considers herself "self-taught" because she has had no formal training. However, she has studied with some amazing teachers and presently mentors under James Richards. Kathy is extremely grateful to everyone who has given to her. She is aware that nothing happens by chance and gives glory to The Lord for His goodness.

After four years of studying, she was able to participate in events and shows and has placed in several of the shows.
